With RSS, you can receive notification when a web site is updated without having to actually visit the site. It is used primarily at news sites, communities, portals and other content-heavy destinations that are updated on a regular schedule. You can find an RSS link at just about every major news site, from Wired to Yahoo! News.
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a simple form of XML. Originally developed by Netscape in 1999, it is now maintained by the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School and enjoys an active development community.
You can read RSS feeds with a news reader or news aggregator application. There are many available for all platforms, but we recommend FeedDemon for Windows or NetNewsWire for Mac OS X. Simply subscribe to our feed in your news aggregator and you will receive immediate notice when a new Perceptive Software news item is published.
