When a chart component is imported into ImageNow, ImageNow sends an HL7 message to the Cerner application, which receives it and builds a link to the document. When a user accesses the patient record, they can instantly access the document via WebNow by simply clicking the link. Additional information, such as which user scanned the document and when it was scanned, can also be automatically sent from ImageNow to Cerner.
ImageNow can also receive HL7 messages from Cerner, automatically facilitating common tasks such as the merging of duplicate patient accounts, elimination of an outdated chart component or changing a patient's name on that individual’s ImageNow documents.
