Quinnipiac University Selects ImageNow from Perceptive Software

Tech-savvy university deploys ImageNow to speed administrative processes and improve student services campus-wide.

SHAWNEE, KANSAS — (08 Oct 2007) Quinnipiac University announced plans today to implement ImageNow® enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software from Perceptive Software. The university says the implementation of ImageNow will bring cost savings and improve student service by automating manual paper-based processes across the university.

Using technology to better serve students is a top priority for Quinnipiac University, which was recently ranked #9 on PC Magazine’s “Top 20 Wired Colleges.” According to Janice Wachtarz, associate vice president of university applications, Quinnipiac University looked for a solution that provided tight integration with its ERP system to bring all its unstructured paper and electronic communications together with its structured database.

“We explored other document imaging solutions, but Perceptive Software’s partnership with Datatel along with its usability made it the natural choice for us,” Wachtarz says. “We see the same qualities in Perceptive Software as we do in Datatel—commitment to meeting customers’ needs, a solid user community, and friendly, responsive people to partner with.”

ImageNow will be deployed first in Quinnipiac’s financial aid office. Using patented LearnMode™ technology, ImageNow will seamlessly integrate with the university’s Datatel Colleague application. Integration creates a link between information stored in ImageNow and host system records, giving users instant access to supporting documents from their Datatel screens and allowing staff and students to get the answers they need without having to dig through paper files.

Ease of integration, user-friendly design and on-site training at Perceptive Software will give Quinnipiac University administrators the ability to expand ImageNow university-wide with little assistance from Perceptive Software after the initial implementation.

“Quinnipiac will realize cost savings throughout our university-wide deployment of ImageNow because of its methodology,” Wachtarz says. “Perceptive Software’s principle of customer ownership allows us to be self-sufficient once our Financial Aid office is implemented.”

Wachtarz believes ImageNow will also directly enhance the experience of Quinnipiac University students. “ImageNow is a solution we can use to improve our administrative processes in our continual effort to provide better service to students,” Wachtarz says.
