Louisville’s Health Care Leader Selects ImageNow from Perceptive Software

Norton Healthcare looks to become more efficient in accounts payable, human resources and materials management.

SHAWNEE, KANSAS — (05 Feb 2008) Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow® enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software, today announced that Norton Healthcare, Louisville, Kentucky’s leading hospital and health care system, has entered into an agreement to deploy ImageNow from Perceptive Software.

Rated as one of the top 100 integrated health care delivery systems in the country, Norton Healthcare will implement ImageNow to simplify its paper-based accounts payable, materials management and human resources processes. The not-for-profit system – the largest in Kentucky – includes four large hospitals in Louisville, 10 Norton Immediate Care Centers, 9,700 employees, 280 employed medical providers at some 50 locations, and nearly 2,000 total physicians on its medical staff. By deploying ImageNow, Norton Healthcare will improve information sharing, speed the revenue cycle and increase productivity by automating daily processes.

ImageNow Workflow will simplify invoice processing and materials management processes by automating steps within the approval process, instantly providing Norton Healthcare employees a complete history of each document, from the time it is scanned into ImageNow until it is archived.

Replacing a paper-based process with automated workflow will improve document tracking and visibility and eliminate the delays and costs associated with duplicating and distributing hard copies. In addition to ensuring swift processing and timely reimbursement, ImageNow helps increase opportunities for supplier discounts.

Integrated LearnMode™ technology will seamlessly integrate ImageNow with Lawson Financials, Norton Healthcare’s core business application. This integration creates a direct connection between records in Lawson and corresponding information in ImageNow, enabling users to retrieve supporting documents from their Lawson screens instantly.

Norton Healthcare will also utilize ImageNow to centralize and secure all employee information. Applicant and personnel documents are captured, stored and accessible electronically, enabling human resources staff to retrieve a resume, answer a payroll question, or review an employee’s state license instantly and directly from their Lawson application.
